My Goal for YOU:
I believe effective advocacy starts with understanding both sides of the table. I want to help parents understand what schools are legally required to provide, what rights and protections they and their children have, and where there is room for collaboration, problem-solving, and meaningful advocacy. Sometimes that means helping a parent recognize when they need to push for something; other times, it means finding a solution that works for both the student and the school.
Most importantly, I want parents to feel empowered by information. If you need to say “no” to something, I want you to understand WHY you are saying no and have the information, data, and knowledge to support your position - not simply feel like you have to say no because something doesn’t feel right. I can help turn that knowledge into practical tools, such as questions to bring to meetings, personalized strategy guides, record review summaries, data-informed talking points, and resources to help you prepare for difficult conversations.
My goal is for parents to walk into an IEP, 504, or problem-solving meeting feeling knowledgeable, prepared, and confident in their ability to participate as an equal member of the team. You know your child best, and you deserve to feel informed and heard.

About Me:
Welcome everyone, I’m Kayla.
Before I ever worked in education, I walked the challenging path of navigating special education for my own daughter. It was overwhelming and often confusing, so I decided to go back to school and earn my special education teaching certification to gain a better understanding of everything.
What started as a practical step quickly turned into a passion. While working as a special education teacher, I observed parents struggle to navigate the complex “puzzle” of special education, saw anxiety and stress as they as they worked through countless pages of reports, rules, and “what-ifs”. I felt as though parents were “up a creek without a paddle”. I continued my studies by pursuing an Ed.S. (Educational Specialist) degree in School Psychology. During that program, I gained a much deeper understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and decided to pursue a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification as well. In the 2026–2027 school year, I’ll be completing my internship as a School Psychologist while continuing my journey toward becoming a BCBA.
While in school, I found myself regularly helping family members navigate the same confusing system. That experience made me realize how many other parents feel just as lost and frustrated. So I decided to create something with a heartfelt goal: to help families gain clarity, confidence, and practical tools as they navigate the school-based special education process.
